Severn bridges strike action is called off by workers

A PLANNED 24-hour strike tomorrow by workers who staff toll booths at the Severn bridges has been suspended.

Members of the Unite union were due to walk out in a dispute with employers Severn River Crossing over "work life balance". The strike could have seen tolls suspended but was called off last night.

Unite regional officer Jeff Woods said: "Unite and the company have reached agreement on a range of issues, including those that initiated the vote in favour of industrial action."
